The main new features of the M-3.6 are the tension knobs, both for the base axis where the head attaches, and for the arm axis where your lens foot attaches.
Both knobs are now full 4-nub rubberized knobs (instead of wings) and have a new smooth friction surface for more tension control.
Best of all, each knob has a "locking ring" that lets you completely lock down the head for carrying and for shooting! The base axis has 12 lock positions and the arm axis has 5 lock positions.
The Mongoose 3.6 quality gimbal head is perfect for larger telephoto lenses up to 8 lbs (3.6kg) such as the Nikon 200 - 400VR, the Canon 300 2.8 IS or the Canon 500 f4 IS.
The M-3.6 has full gimbal action, new easy to reach
locking tension knobs, a bubble level in the base, and an adjustable CAM actuated quick release that fits Arca-Swiss plates.
